Today we released a new batch of six research reports, Vendor Vignettes. These short reports are, in essence, a product or service review of particular vendors offering. We keep them relatively short and pithy, and our goal is to provide potential buyers with a 100% independent analysis of these vendors’ suitability (or otherwise) for inclusion on shortlists.  In this batch, we have:

Box, is arguably the best-known cloud alternative (after Microsoft) for enterprise content management. There has been a lot going on at Box over the past year or so, and this report looks at the new bundled functionality (such as digital signatures) and how Box stands up in today’s competitive market.

On the automation side of things, an exciting vendor in the form of ActiveOps. With a product that provides tools to manage performance in decentralized work environments.

ABBYY Vantage, one of the best-known and longest-standing document capture vendors, has a lot of new technologies and frameworks, such as NeoML.

Startup Infrrd, brings its homegrown, patented AI data stack, which we found exceptionally good. Assuming good corporate execution, Infrrd could well become a pivotal player to watch.

Automation Hero comes at a traditional problem (data extraction) from a novel, innovative, and well-thought-out angle, applying lessons from the world of big data to the traditional walled garden of intelligent document processing.

And finally, but certainly not least, we looked closely at Oracle’s pretty impressive entry (OCI Vision) into the document capture and processing market.

I hope you enjoy and find value in these reports – they are all licensed as open source, so free for you to read and share (though not commercially, please!). If you have any questions or feedback, let us know.

If you are a buyer or user of Information & Automation management tools we have a free – yup, free – confidential advisory service for you. A service that means all you have to do is find a time on our calendar.

If you are a seller of Information & Automation Management technologies, again feel free to reach out and chat with us, we may be able to help by providing some critical but constructive advice and support.
