The third episode of the second season of the Deep Analysis podcasts went live this week; available everywhere you get your podcasts from and of course, in video form via YouTube (embedded below). The show notes for this episode are available below if you want to follow along with the conversation. As ever, it’s 3 topics in 30 minutes; skip to the topics you’re most interested in, or maybe sit back and enjoy the whole thing with a beverage of your choice?
In this episode;
Topic 1: Where in the World has Alan Been?
Alan tells us all about his adventures (almost) celebrating the winning of the scudetto in Naples, visiting the AIIM Conference in New Orleans, the Reworked Connect conference in Austin and speaking at the Papyrus Software user conference in Austria.
Topic 2: Here come the gen AI helpers! How do you cope?
Here Matt and Alan discuss the glut of recent announcements about generative AI-based helpers that are coming to your desktop applications, from productivity suites like Google Workspace & Microsoft 365 or horizontal applications like the various flavour of business application clouds from Salesforce. With a recently published analyst report to point to, the pair attempt to explain why all the rush to market and what it means for organizations and workers trying to make sense of all the noise.
Topic 3: Data Fabrics & Work Intelligence. A solution?
Finally, Matt and Alan discuss how Data Fabrics – with special reference to Appian – might be useful in solving the data wrangling issue for Process Mining and other Mining Intelligence tools within the broader Work Intelligence marketplace. Is it just as simple as it sounds or is there actually a big difference between hooking up a database or a business application to a Data Fabric and trying to do the same with log, transaction and event logs? Hint: they reckon it’s not even the same sport.
