innovation index award 2022

2022 Innovation Index Award Winners

We are genuinely excited to announce the 2022 years Innovation Index Award winners. As in past years, it’s a truly eclectic bunch who, in their unique way, caught us by surprise and gave us a wow moment. There is no application process, and you can’t buy an award (sadly, all too common), and as such, they are 100% merit-based, subjective with a heavy dose of objectivity, and come as a complete surprise to the recipients. It’s a fun thing to do, but there is a serious side to it. The Information & Automation Management sector went through many years with little innovation. Over a nearly 20-year period, except for the launch of Box & SharePoint, little changed. It’s now changing, evolving, and improving rapidly, and we want to celebrate that. So in no particular order, here are this year’s winners.

Krista Software

When you think of process automation, you think of complexity, but Krista seems to have pulled off both process and task automation, combining ML and NLP in a straightforward, easy-to-use way.

UIPath/Re:Infer

I remember our first briefing (pre-acquisition) very clearly, as I honestly still wasn’t sure what it was that Re:Infer did 🙂 Then the light bulb finally went on, and we understood that it could analyze and determine the ‘intent’ of business communication; it was a wow for sure.

ABBYY Vantage

ABBYY has been around for a long time, and one expects incremental upgrades from long-standing vendors. Vantage, though, and neoML were a breath of fresh IDP air from quite an unexpected quarter.

ScaleHub

When we started the awards, I never thought about a vendor winning more than one. But ScaleHub and its use of crowdsourcing to augment AI-based capture still check the innovation boxes.

Microsoft Syntex

This year’s slew of announcements from the Microsoft Syntex team couldn’t go without recognition. Seen as a whole, Syntex fills in many, if not most, of the SharePoint gaps and gives new life to the biggest ECM platform.

Automation Hero

We found Automation Hero fascinating, as the founder’s roots in the big data world are reflected in their fresh and powerful new take on IDP.

dedoco

Marrying blockchain with document processing in a simple-to-use manner makes perfect sense. Yet dedoco is one of, if not the first, to do so in an effortless and easy-to-use way.
